Please Guide Me on Your Bike Path to Righteousness

My weekend ended with another bike accident. I was on a beer run, could feel my sling falling off, reached back to grab it, hit a pothole and flipped over into a parked car. This combined with getting doored last Wednesday, my legs look like I got assaulted by an angry toddler with a baseball bat.

I managed to bike to work today though-still in pain and if only to prove to myself that I could do it.

I’m not going to stop riding. Telling me to do so would be like telling someone who’s gotten into car accidents to never drive again. I’m addicted to the freedom of it. I love the built in workout I get everyday.

I’ve been using my minor injuries as an excuse to be overly indulgent in terms of bathing. I can’t shower because I can’t stand long enough to finish one, so I’ve been taking baths-baths that include scented Epson salt, bubbles, candles, relaxing music and glasses of wine. I’m strongly considering keeping this going long after I need it.

On another positive note, in the words of my best friend, “Well, if the whole office thing doesn’t work out, you could always be a stunt woman!”
